FAQs
Who is this for?
This program is especially for solo researchers. Researchers that are a so-called ‘Team of One’ and carry responsibility for all the aspects of user research in their organisation. It might also be relevant for researchers that work in a matrix organisation, where there are research peers but they are embedded in other business units and there is little time to collaborate or share your practice.
What is in it for me?
As a participant in this program, you’ll gain valuable insights and support from a community of fellow solo researchers. Through open discussions and shared experiences, you’ll address common challenges and discover effective strategies for navigating your role.
Over the five-week program, you’ll expand your professional network, enhance your skills, and develop a clear career development plan. By the end, you’ll feel more confident, connected, and equipped to tackle the unique demands of being a solo researcher.
There will be lots of learning, but also laughter. Together we will work out how you can thrive (not just survive).
How will I convince my manager to invest in this?
By participating in this cohort, you’ll not only enhance your skills as a solo researcher but also provide tangible benefits to your organisation.
You can mention the following to your manager:
By joining, you’ll gain access to a valuable network of experienced solo researchers. This network will provide insights into best practices, challenges, and effective strategies, helping you to improve the efficiency and impact of your research.
Through peer coaching and expert guidance, you’ll develop a clearer research strategy aligned with your organization’s goals. This will enable you to make more informed decisions and deliver greater value. Additionally, you’ll learn new ways to share research insights effectively and strengthen collaborations with colleagues.
Ultimately, participating in this program will help you become a more confident, effective, and motivated solo researcher. This will not only benefit you personally but also contribute to the overall success of your organisation.

What happens if I miss a session?
Each session has a different topic. Missing one session does not mean that you have missed anything essential for the next session. The sessions will not be recorded to ensure that all participants can speak freely. If you were to miss a session, Kathleen will send you the material and questions we discussed.
All sessions are interactive in nature, which requires real time participation and committing to being there for the full 90 minutes. Please be mindful that dropping in later, or hopping out early can disturb the experience of other participants as well as your own.
What time are the sessions?
The sessions start at 10am Central European Time, super friendly to those based in Europe and Asia.
It will commence at 10am in Amsterdam, 9 am in London, 4pm in Singapore, 7pm in Melbourne). And yes…. it will be 1am in San Francisco… you must sleep instead of signing up for this. The good news is that I will host another cohort starting in February that will be US timezone friendly. Just reach out to me if you want to stay in the loop and get first dibs on the early bird tickets.
